Belheaven to Dudleys Marina

We went from Belhaven, N.C. to the Morehead City area yesterday.
This is the RC Mayo Seafood Company on the Addams Creek Cut.
There is a long face dock and these folks are known to welcome
a traveller from the ICW to just go ahead and tie up
if they're caught in the area by nightfall or weather.
We are headed south today but tomorrow it will all be west.
People don't realize how long it takes to get through North Carolina on the ICW.
First you head south from Norfolk
and then in Morehead City you turn west and then south for the Cape Fear River.
We plan on getting to Bald Head Island tomorrow at the mouth of the Cape Fear.
Know any good scary movies?
This was an amazing sight to see,
two dredges being towed and pushed and steered by no fewer than six tugs,
smaller and smaller as you got to the back.
They all had to work together just to turn a corner.
The whole tow had to be two hundred yards, it seemed to go on forever!
We had great plans to spend a few days in Beaufort, N.C.
but when I called to get a reservation for dockage
we found that they were having their annual fishing tournament,
"The Big Rock" and there was no dockage anywhere.
We just pressed on to the west end of Bogue Sound
and Dudley's Marina.
Swansboro, N.C. in the evening.
We have Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base ahead of us.
The base actually surrounds the ICW.
No telling what we might see today,
maybe an amphibious landing or two?
There just isn't anything like a sunset from the bow of your boat.
Tough Life.
