Leaving Essex to Norwalk, Ct.

The lovely Griswold Inn in Essex, Connecticut
our base of operations prior to leaving in the Boat.
We have watched this town emerge from winter and blossom into spring.

Speaking of Spring! Coming from Florida we don't often get to experience spring in all it's glory.
This year we sure did. Wow, what a show.
After two trips up during the winter I understand why spring is so dear to these folks.
They earn it!

 This is Essex Boat Works.
The boat was stored here for the winter. Nice folks, good yard.
This picture shows Gary going in to sign autographs.
You know he is quite the celeb these days.

Here we go! Leaving Essex behind and beginning our long trip home.
What a beautiful small New England town. Quintessentially New England!

The Old Saybrook Lighthouse as we head out and west into Long Island Sound.
Spending the night tonight in Norwalk, Ct., a nice short trip for the first day.

Wouldn't you know it, off in Stamford we get to meet new friends!
These northerners sure are welcoming.

Gary"s surrounded! All's well and these really are nice guys.
Very professional and easy to talk to.

Looks  like a random drug test but I can assure you it's not, just settling in for a nice visit.

Here is one of the beautiful Barn Swallows of Essex.
They were all around the boat and seemed to be just as happy as everyone else around there that
winter was truly gone.
On to Norwalk and then New York!
Just tell Ana to stay in the south!
More on that tomorrow I'm sure.
